Yesterday I was extremely pleased to be given a leather coat that my sister-in-law had had for a number of years and not worn. As a swap she got a bag of my fabric scraps for card making. I think I got the better deal. Today I have carefully unpicked the coat and lining and begun the process of transforming it into at least 2 bags. Leather isn’t the easiest of fabrics to sew but it is a dream to cut. In the meantime I made a simple flap bag (a Mary bag – see my types of bag link) in a cat fabric – a commission from my sister who wants it for her friend. Today I received another commission for a cat bag which now makes 3 cat bags made by somebody who dislikes the creatures. But it is nice to be getting the commissions.
