I was given some fabric last week and made a bag from it for the person who gave me the material. The pattern is quite simple really but the cut out pocket on the front is very effective when made with a contrasting fabric. However both fabrics were quite thick which made sewing through the layers tiresome. I made a handle in the same fabric but it was far too thick so I have had to use one in a different material. Made in a lighter weight fabric this would be a great bag as it can be used as either a shoulder bag or a backpack. I was especially pleased with the pockets in the lining. There is a mobile phone pouch but I added additional pockets. The bag has a top zip closure. The pattern is the Switchback bag by Spencer Ogg.
